I spend a huge chunk of my days either watching Netflix or playing video games. I also spend a lot of time browsing the internet. I've noticed as I've gotten older and spent more and more time using highly stimulating electronics that I'm finding less joy in normal activities, like going to work or cooking a meal. I guess in that way this has become a bit of an addiction-- one where I don't feel joy in other areas of my life unless I'm "using." This has obviously become an issue, as I don't really enjoy my life anymore outside of when I'm watching a show or playing a game, and I've become really negligent in other areas of my life such as self-care, my home, work, etc.

I am curious how the people on this sub approach tech, and what you would do in my situation. My ultimate desire is to live more simply and in a more natural way. I don't think my relationship with tech is healthy or natural, and I believe it is resulting in a lot of negative changes in my life. However, I'd really rather not quit cold-turkey, as I do think games and shows are beneficial in their own way when used properly. I guess I just don't know what using them properly looks like, especially in a culture that advocates for their use 24/7.

Looking so forward to the responses here! Thank you.
