Hello friends, I'm installing laminate floor in the bedrooms at my home. One thing I'm not quite sure of is how exactly to go about leveling the floor. The manufacturers recommendation for the level is no more than 1/16in per 3 ft or 2mm per m. However, in some areas the floor is as much as 1/8in per 2 ft. My father in law seems to believe it's not that crucial, as all wood floors have imperfections. DIY, is this a crucial step in the preparation process for laying laminate floors on a plywood subfloor? The DIY videos I've seen on the laminate/vinyl plank click/lock laying do not discuss leveling the subfloor or checking for level, so again maybe father in law is correct. If it's necessary, what's the best way to accomplish this? Most DIY videos I see about leveling a floor are for cement floors.Edit: Underlayment is 2mm thick. Laminate boards are 12mm thick = 14mm total The major culprits are the joints where boards of plywood meet. Those are typically high spots in the floor.TL/DR; Is leveling a plywood subfloor necessary before installing click/locking laminate plank flooring?Cheers! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2zbF9lK
