I see a lot of comments on this subreddit where people talk OP out of completely reasonable desires like a nice car, vacation, etc.

News flash: money is a means to an end, namely your happiness. No, you should not be blowing all your money every month and be reckless in preparing for your retirement, but you don't always have to pinch every possible penny so you die with a pile of cash.

Want that BMW? Already saving 20%, covered your debt, expenses, and it makes sense in the budget? Want to take that dream trip to Paris? GO FOR IT. There is NOTHING wrong with spending money on things that bring you happiness, as long as it's not screwing your future self.

tl;dr: don't let overly cautious money-hoarders on this sub talk you out of a reasonably budgeted pleasure-good that will make you happy!
