Hi all,Apologies if wrong place to post.I moved into my house 3 years ago and I’ve always wondered if the grout on the bathroom floor is dirty or just dark coloured grout - the tiles on the floor and wall are cream / brown, but the floor grout is black and the wall grout is white. This is shown here.So yesterday I sat with a Brillo pad and grout cleaning spray and brushed one spot for about 20 minutes (literally) and it became brilliant white. This can be seen in the above link.Given that it took me 20 minutes to do a small area I had a tradesman out today to give a quote for replacing the floor grout as it’ll be easier than trying to clean it, however he said (within a few seconds of looking at it) he thinks it’s maybe brown grout that has been placed on top of white grout. Is there any way I could know this for sure? I suspect it’s dirty white grout.This leaves me 3 options:Try get matching black / brown grout and fix the bits I’ve “cleaned”.Keep going and clean the rest myself which will take a long time.Pay the tradesman £100 to remove the old grout and replace it with new white grout.I’d appreciate any thoughts / feedback! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2qK08HE
