Taking a step back, I want my dining-room-size standing desk to have a top that can be removed and reattached again when I relocate and move. I am afraid of unscrewing and screwing back into the same holes because I feel the wood might lose integrity over time by taking apart and reassembling. If I glued the extra inch of wood on the belly of my top, for the steel pipe leg floor flanges to screw into, would the glue both be secure enough and for my table to get the extra inch height? Also, if I ruined the inch of glued wood that I screwed my black steel pipe structure into (after assembling and dissembling) would I be able to easily remove the glued wood to glue more 1inch wood to freshly drill into?I don’t know how easily glued wood could be removed and how feasible would be to have a clean enough surface to glue more wood down to reattach the steel pipe frame again. So my question is really several questions to scratch a number of itches, haha. I want another inch of height, and I also want to know if the glued extra inch of wood would give me better versatility for breaking down and reassembling the desk without ruining my wood top. Sorry for the convoluted question that expanded upon the post title! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2zLvySf
