I have an awful habit that I'm trying to kick of buying things to get a high or feel good, which can turn pretty damn costly.

I went through a system (which shall remain unnamed because of Rule #2) that allows the purchase of partial stocks. And now, whenever I want to spend money to feel good, I pump $5-10 into the S&P 500 low volatility or similar fund. Or any reliable company really.

I've built a $200 portfolio in one month. My first ever series of investments. I cannot wait to see it grow. Yes the stock market has had a bit of a down period lately but that's investing and how it goes.

And that money isn't lost on things that will bring me short-term joy. It's an investment into my future and financial stability.
