Just ranting as i've started the engagement process and the entire industry sounds so ridiculous.
Literally, doing my online shopping and checking out engagement rings (as well as asking friends who say they blew their budget of 4 THOUSAND DOLLARS) over something so silly to me as a ring.
One of my friends used terms like "Well my current fiance wanted that extra next level in ring, so I had to get her a 5k ring"
My mind is going, "5k would make enough for an amazing honeymoon to tahiti (which me and my current GF would probaly value a ton more)"
Cheapest rings I could find are like 1-2k, which is unbelievable.
Guess i'll be proposing with a ring pop at this point.
