TL;DR: scammer waits for winning bid on ebay, then sends email asking to send item to other address than listed
Heads up on this new (to me) scam that I just ran across.
Recently bought an iPhone 8 off eBay, didn't realize it was the wrong model (GSM only, needed GSM+CDMA), so I tried to resell it. Ended up profiting a few dollars once bidding ended. Then I received this email from eBay.
Hello , i just bought iphone 8 from you I hope all is great with that phone p.s I wanna change shipping address because my dad got sick and I have to move out of town to hospital to take care, sorry for bothering and here is the shipping u have to send it:

This immediately set off red flags in my mind from other posts I've seen on this sub, so I looked at the user who sent it. 0 bought or sold, 0% positive feedback, created in 2018. Again, alarm bells ringing. I don't sell on eBay often, mostly just buying, so I ran it by my wife, who noticed that it wasn't even the person who won the final bid, and that the payment hadn't even gone through yet. Needless to say, we didn't send it to them, but as I'm writing this post, I noticed that the fake account is geolocated to Georgia, but the address they gave me is in Delaware.
