If you disregard heat pumps, do all devices which consume electricity produce heat equally? For example, would a basic portable 600 watt electric resistive heater produce the same heat output as (100watt TV+100watt computer+200watt crock pot+100watt lightbulb+100watt electric motor) ? If you put the dedicated heater in one insulated test room and the other electrical devices in a duplicate room would both rooms stay at the same ambient temperature? Or do some electrical devices consume power without producing heat? From a frugal point of view, if you are trying to keep one room in a large house warm can you save some money by concentrating all your electronic devices (assuming you'd be using them anyway) in that room instead of running the electric heater?
