It turns out that the pumpkins that don't get made into jack o lanterns go for a small fraction of the price the next day. I bought a single pumpkin and with ingredients I made at home and a couple hours of labor(I like cooking), i have more candied pumpkin than I know what to do with. November pumpkins are both cheap and tasty.
