Hello, I am trying to build a non-permanent wall that can be shifted to open and close. The space I am trying to fit is at the bottom of a staircase.Backstory: I live in a basement and am moving in 2-4 months. In my current residence, I have 2 cats who cannot go upstairs due to safety concerns (the garage upstairs is always left open, I do not want the cats going outside, another neighbor's cat got killed by another neighbor's dog). The garage is non-negotiable by the homeowner even considering the loose dangerous dog.I have tried a cardboard room divider and a wooden 4 paneled room divider (https://ift.tt/2qz2Gbr). One of the cats spends his entire day figuring out how to escape his happy and warm life to explore. He is now climbing the wooden room divider to get over it. Does anyone have any suggestions on other ways I can non-permanently block off a staircase with something high enough that a cat cannot get over it?Edited to add that this can be really ugly. I do not need a nice temporary wall as I am moving very soon. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2yUOA8Z
