Nearly all of the TSP funds have outperformed their benchmark from 2013 to 2017.

Of the 4 funds (I, C, S, and F), between 2013 and 2017, the funds out-performed the benchmark 90% of the time. The only two times where the TSP didn't outperform the benchmark was the International fund in 2013 and 2014. In 2017, the C fund lagged the S%P 500 by only 0.01%, so I didn't include that since it is essentially equal.

Just wanted to throw this bit of info out there.

Also, if you are investing in the TSP, don't forget to move out of the G fund after initially setting up your account since that is the default at account open.

There are also some fantastic lifecycle funds if you want to be more hands-off.
