I searched:
I have a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD, and it appears they use electrolytic capacitors that are designed to fail after about 7 years (when they dry out). Consumer grade electronics tend to be designed to fail, and I hate that. Does anyone know if rackmount UPS's are designed to fail too? What about APC products? I used to buy APC products, and I forgot why I switched to CyberPower.
The CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD is about $200 USD. If I can't find any good alternatives that I can afford, I will probably either buy another one, or do without it. I considered building my own UPS with with a big DC power supply, inverter, and a charge controller, but that could easily get very expensive, and it would raise energy costs.
EDIT: Thanks for the suggestions to choose a UPS that makes it easy to replace batteries. The CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD has easy to replace batteries. I would expect that in any UPS. I'm more worried about electronics aren't designed to last.
