My S/O & I purchased our first house back in late April. We tried putting off the yard until next Spring, as there were far more tasks to handle indoors. About two weeks ago, we had a very passive aggressive neighbor put hedge clippers on our front porch. We didn't know which bushes were ours.. anyways.. apparently there was a god awful bush that looked like Alf Alpha, and was a pretty ugly bush on our side hill. Our side hill is very steep and is probably about 20 steps. My S/O took a chainsaw to the bush the very next day and cut it down. My neighbor then shut up.Fast forward to this weekend.. we did a Home Depot haul of about $200 worth of:Black MulchJute/BurlapFabricWinter Gem Boxwoods& a Hydrangea BushHe first removed some dirt to level the hillside. Planted the boxwoods, put fabric down, then burlap (to make the mulch stay in place, we get flash flooded occasionally) and then covered it with mulch. It was a feat and a half ,and I think that he was army crawling up the hillside for most of the weekend.. but i'm impressed how uniform it is. Even more impressed that it has been pouring for two days and nothing has altered or moved.https://ift.tt/2yhn2tj, here's some photos... I just admire him. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2pBCiNR
