Hopefully this is the right spot to ask this question. I overheard my wife talking to her mother about a pop up on her computer. Long story short, they had hundreds of "errors" and "Microsoft" sold them some software. Basically, $800 was charged on their card.
I asked several times to make sure that this was their credit card and not their bank card. I told them to call the card company immediately and dispute the charges. What else should they do?
