Just finished the book, The Last American Man, which is about Eustace Conway, a fellow who was driven to live in the woods in a teepee for years and taught himself to hunt and build fires and all that. He then went on to buy land (made money giving talks about living the simple, wild life in nature) and opened his "sanctuary/training facility" called Turtle Island.
It's a fascinating story and really fun to read. By Elizabeth Gilbert, a novelist and long-time friend of Eustace Conway.
The book goes into his life from childhood, to his crazy adventures and Turtle Island and the challenges throughout his life and the irony of simple living for him.
