(image album and detailed instructions)My San Francisco apartment is from 1912 so while it does have some great period details, it is lacking in closet space. I decided to make an inexpensive coat rack to help out with that, and this cost about $90 all in. The pipe is black plumbing pipe, which comes in tons of configurations so required no tools to assemble. The wood is a redwood board that my uncle used as a bookshelf in his first apartment in 1964. When he moved to his current house, he put the board in storage and forgot about it. It was pretty special to find it and have him help me turn it into something new that will get used every day. All told it was a pretty inexpensive, simple, and satisfying project! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2QlsWBi
