I truly feel like an idiot. Opened up the thing around 2013 and put about $4000 in it, but I switched to an insurance policy that made me ineligible to contribute to it after about a year. I rarely go to a doctor, so the account got buried in some dark corner of my mind, where my aol password probably is.
The dumbest thing is that I always knew that it’s possible to invest the funds. But every time that thought came to my mind, I forgot I had an HSA account. And every time I remembered I had the account, I forgot about investing. The two ideas never came together until today.
Anyways, I hope this can serve as a PSA to some people. And I could also use some guesses on how much I probably lost out on, so I can feel real crappy all weekend. I probably would’ve picked some small cap growth fund. Thanks all ðŸ˜
