Husband got some mail about a month ago from a debt collection agency. All the mail says is that he is to pay“$3k in debt to County Service Office”. He calls the county and they confirm that yes, it’s real and it’s for unpaid traffic tickets in 2012. He asks for itemized proof in writing, they say they can only provide proof verbally and that they have tried to contact him in writing since 2012 so it’s his fault it went to debt collection. Note: his license has never been suspended.
How do we handle this? Thank you.
