This applies to people who live in a subdivision or condo complex that require you to pay HOA fees. Also, to those who have a neighborhood clubhouse or community center that residents can rent. I just remembered years ago a close friend of ours lost their father quite suddenly and didn't have funds for a funeral. I remembered our clubhouse is rentable for events like parties and weddings. I rented the clubhouse for $35 and they were able to have a memorial there for their dad. He was cremated so no coffin. Our clubhouse is over 2000 sq feet, a parking lot, a full kitchen, couches, a big screen tv, and all tables and chairs provided. I saved them thousands on their funeral expenses. Unfortunately my own father in law is being treated for mouth cancer and he isn't doing very well so we're preparing ourselves for when he passes. He only has the money needed to pay for cremation and nothing else. So, we will use the clubhouse for his memorial. Just wanted to share this to my frugal friends.
