Hi y'all! This sub helped me with other electricity questions, so I'd like to take advantage of your awesomeness one more time. I am replacing the wiring in a ceiling light. The old wires are totally shot, and the whole setup seems cobbled together pretty haphazardly.Anyways, I got three new Leviton ceramic keyless sockets, and I have some SPT-2 wiring as well as bare copper wire for the ground wire. Now, I understand how to connect the SPT wires: The smooth one connects the brass screw with the hot wire, and the ribboned one connects the silver screw with the neutral wire. But where does the ground wire go on the socket? In the old wiring, it was just wrapped around the metal plate at the bottom (or top, whatever) of the socket with the help of a round wire terminal. Is that the way to do it?Thanks in advance! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2NZvAe6
