Currently, I can call my elderly father in the States at a reasonable rate using Skype on my iPhone. I use its in-built 'SkypeOut' feature, which will connect to his old landline phone and we can talk. He has difficulty with modern technology and a regular landline phone is about all he can reliably handle.
However, in recent years, the cost for this seems to have gone up. I'm looking for alternatives. Assuming decent quality, how do you handle your international phone calls it the most frugal way possible?
