The relationship I have with cash is weird and almost nonexistent. I tend to treat my bank accounts as abstract. I've formed my spending around it and it's odd to me that I lack the concept that I have cash in my account. Because I view cash as tangible rather than a digital number. But they're the same. I know this. But I treat it as fundamentally different. I don't know why. I have a hunch that maybe I'd be able to save more money each week if I functioned with cash for certain things over using my card. Has anyone experimented with taking out different portions of their paycheck in cash and seeing how much they save compared to leaving all of their paycheck in their bank account? I want to know if anyone here has saved more money because they become more conscious of their spending because they make their paycheck tangible.
