I have cans of Oatey PVC primer and cement that look like this. I cannot figure out how to get the tops to unscrew.I have tried:Twisting the top with my handTwisting the top with a wrenchTwisting the top with the soft handle of another tool, as suggested in this YouTube videoTrying a different can in case I just got a particularly stubborn oneAnd none of the above has allowed me to successfully open even one can. The tops just will. not. budge.Out of desperation, I finally took a kitchen can opener and cut around the edge like it was a can of soup, which opened it easily. But that will get expensive since I can’t close the can after doing that, so I’ll need a new can every time I do a project.Does anyone have any advice on how to get the lids of the cans to unscrew?Edit: Thanks to answers received here, I realized my initial attempts to open them (which involved squeezing very hard with wrenches, pliers, and anything else I could come up with) slightly crushed the caps and made them difficult/impossible to open. I'll get new cans, and a "rubber strap wrench" to open them with. Thank you all for your help and advice! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2PG5Xkg
