I don't have a lot of experience with hobby motors or wiring, so I was hoping for some advice on what I should get in order to keep this contraption simple. Here is the diagram: Diag. 1Explanation: My dog has an outdoor pen that he stays in while I am working. It has all the creature comforts he could ask for, and we have a camera that allows us to check on him and talk to him.I had an idea to help make him even happier. I would like to build and mount a small motor with a spiral (think vending machine) and hang a dog toy loaded with food from it. At some point during the day, I could check the camera and activate the motor and drop the toy for him.I have a TP-Link smart plug that I can use to power and control the contraption remotely. So I would want a motor that operates automatically as long as it is receiving power.I am going to bend a clothes hanger around a pipe to make the spiral, but I need to be able to attach it to the driver of the motor.Do you have any suggestions/links to a simple motor that would fit this project?Would there be a better subreddit for this question? If so I will move it.Thanks! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2OS0vOW
