My boyfriend and I are about to go on our first road trip together, and I'm looking for a few ways to cut down the costs. We're traveling about 6/7 hours to visit his family.
So far, we've used his USAA to get a massive discount on our rental car, which was unfortunately a necessary evil as neither of our own vehicles were an option. We also had to get a hotel room, as his family's house is already full of other family, but my father travels a lot for work and is getting us free nights with his rewards points, so we're good there.
How else can we save for the trip?
