Hey, guys. This question may seem odd, but no matter how I crunch the numbers, I have no idea how me and my girlfriend could ever move out of her parents house. This is especially frustrating because we both make decent money, work full time, live in a cheap area, and are generally frugal people. Renting in our area is about $900-$1000 a month, after phones, cars, student loans (my girlfriend has them, I don’t), we cannot afford to live on our own. This year I chose to stop attending college simply to prevent further financial ruin- I almost didn’t have a choice. We are doing everything “right”, yet seem to never be able to move ahead. I’m working an entry level marketing job, and have the opportunity to make really good money down the road, but I don’t want to spend another year living with her parents. It’s embarrassing and I have a lot of anxiety surrounding it.

So, millennials- what did you do to be able to move out? What gave?
