Super quick history. Brand new cedar deck - waited months to seal - laid down sealant - rained 13hrs later. Obviously fucked the job up. Sealant did take at least partially, as when it rains, water stands on the boards in little puddles, not soaking in - so great. However when it dries, you can see leftover water spots (minerals) where the wax wasn’t at. I tried stripping the messed up job off 3 of the boards - and it was a massive failure. Honestly destroyed the surface of the new boards. SO MY QUESTION IS THIS........I have some Cabot clear sealer - can i lay down a thin layer over the entire deck without removing the previous (messed up) sealer?
