My partner and I were trying to find expenses we could cut and we realized that laundry was putting us back $35-50/month. Our apartment building has a laundry room with coin operated machines at $1.75/cycle, and neither of us has time to hang out at the laundromat all day. So paying $3.50 for each small load was the only option.

After spending $10 on laundry during a single week of cleaning up puppy pee accidents, we bought a hand crank eco washer and small electric spin dryer. They work great for everything from t-shirts to socks to delicates, but jeans and towels just won't dry. Everything else comes out of the spin dryer slightly damp and dries completely on the drying rack within 20-30 minutes, but jeans and towels remain super wet no matter how long they spin.

I'd hate to still rely on the dryer in the laundry room to dry my jeans and towels. Anyone have any tips? I was thinking of getting one of those convection racks that come with a small heater and a tent, but we're already pressed for space in the apartment as it is. We also can't hang anything to dry outside because we're on the third floor and most of the windows are painted shut in our ancient building.
