Hello, I don't exactly know where to ask this question, so I apologize if this isn't the correct place. Going through some of my families old stuff I have stumbled upon several old $1000 Imperial Russian Bonds from 1916. Now, I realize Russia has gone through some changes since 1916, but I've looked these up a bit and have found relatively recent articles (published in 1996 and 2001) stating that the Russian government has actually decided to make good on these old bonds. At least they were around the turn of the century.
Does anyone know anything about these bonds? Are they worth anything today? Is there anyone I could get in contact to ask about these bonds?
This is what the bond looks like. The ones we have are the exact same as the ones pictured here.
