I'm living in NYC and am trying to put shelves into the wall in our apartment. I used my stud finder on the wall by my door, and found 2 studs, then tried to find a third, but quickly realized that the magnetic stud finder was pretty much sticking to the wall no matter where I put it from roughly 2 feet out from the corner.My fear is that there are pipes behind the wall, but we have exposed piping both in the kitchen and in the bedroom.
