Hello guys!

I'm trying to understand how do ETFs listed in several exchanges work, and what are the differences between them that I should be aware.

Important infos: * I'm a brazilian looking to invest abroad, mainly following the Boglehead's three-fund strategy. * I've decided to invest in Ireland-based ETFs as they have the "Accumulating" strategy (doesn't pay dividends), and that's interesting to me as a Brazilian (we have high income taxes, and I would have to pay taxes every time the ETF paid dividends). I prefer it reinvesting itself to compound. * I'm looking to open an account with Interactive Brokers, as they allow non-US residents and allow me to purchase Ireland-ETFs listed in Europe (London, Switzerland, etc)

Take EIMI (link) or SWDA (link), for example. They're listed, in US Dollars, in London and Zürich, and in Euros in Italy, Germany and Amsterdan.

  • If I'm purchasing the same ETF, there are any differences between buying USD or EUR-based? From what I can understand, any currency depreciation between those would compensate in the market price of the ETF between different exchanges, thus making no difference for me.

  • If I can operate in different exchanges, it's kinda obvious to me that there should be different taxes. But I'm not figuring when those different tax legislations would apply on my case (a non-US resident investing through a US-based brooker). There is any european country famous for better taxes for non residents?

  • If there's no currency or taxes risk, what other factors should I consider when choosing an exchange to trade in? Liquidity?

Thanks!
