So I bought some Nest thermostats to replace our dinosaur Honeywells. Seemed like a simple straightforward project. We just have one heating system, no AC.Took off the first old thermostat after turning breaker off. Unfortunately, the wires do not reach the Nest terminals, they are too short, ugh. As shown here:https://imgur.com/gallery/1EnfmDZI’ve gently tried tugging at the Romex cable in the dry wall but it’s clearly well fastened in there.Took a peak downstairs to see if there was a place where I could create some slack. There are tons of cables running together.... and if I can isolate which one feeds each thermostat, it appears they are clamped down through their course.Am I stuck with hiring an HVAC professional or is there a simple solution to this that I’m missing? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2p9kZDv
