If I (in Switzerland) buy a US stock that pays dividends, 30% off the dividend will be withheld. (You could get it back but its too cumbersome for small fish like me) However there are many american companies traded on the Swiss stock exchange. Will the tax be withheld here too? What about ETFs that track SP500 or ETFs that track MSCIworld where some shares are US based?
