Yesterday I decided to surprise my s/o to a concert. I went online and found a guy selling 2 verified tickets through ticketmaster. After texting back and forth he offered to send me one to show they're real, then I'll pay.

He ghosted after receiving payment. So I went to the venue and spoke with someone at the window. Thought since I had one ticket and the venue still had seats, I could exchange it for one so I could buy a second and sit next to my date.

A supervisor got involved, and after showing him texts/emails/and the ticket through ticketmaster, he looked into it. Apparently this guy has been buying single tickets, selling them as a pair and ghosting with the money.

Sadly, they couldn't do anything to help me, I'd have to buy 2 new tickets. Which I didn't do as I'd already spent $150. But, because I'm the only person to come show up at the security office, they compared notes in their system and noticed he's been doing this over a full year. He's also been buying the tickets under the same name he used to email it to me. So they cancelled all his future tickets and are blocking him from future purchases.

My next step, though I highly doubt they'd help is contact my bank and see if they can undo the sale, I paid via quick pay with Chase. I figure the worst they could say is no, and this is a costly lesson.

Just sharing my story, hopefully someone else doesn't have the same problem.
