I put an Everlane sweater in my ThredUp cart this morning and didn't realize what the item "expiring" actually meant. I am sort of appalled by this policy. After returning to my cart after work this evening, I see that the sweater "expired" and was removed from my cart. When I visited the item page, it is listed as "Sold." I thought ThredUp must be just trolling me so I signed into Thredup using a different browser and a different email address. The sweater is still listed as Sold. I mean... what??? I'm assuming there are ThredUp users all over the U.S. who add things to their carts and never end up buying them... and that means the item is taken out of circulation for EVERYONE to potentially purchase? How does that make any sense? So the sweater expired in my cart and no one else will ever be able to buy it either, since it's now registered as "Sold?" What does ThredUp do with these items that remain in shoppers' carts more than 12 hours? Donate them to Goodwill? It doesn't really make sense unless the computer system automatically re-stocks the item after 48 hours using a new URL and a new description or something. Anyone know what's going on with this? Thanks
