We moved into a Single Attached Family house that has (supposedly) a double-plastered wall for the common wall. The house is a four-story house (basement ; living room + kitchen ; bdr1,2 ba1 ; bdr3 ba2).We can hear the neighbor's TV and even them talking (although they are not loud), and it is driving me crazy. I am not handy and have never done heavy construction work. What do you recommend me doing? I reached out to the seller (he flipped the house and renovated it, though not a full gut renovation) and he suggested to install some noise-cancelling panels like they have in restaurants. I feel it may reduce the noise we make from what the neighbor can hear, but will not be efficient to filter the noise we hear from their house.Should install fiberglass panels on all common wall, and paint over it? Or remove the existing drywall to insert fiberglass panels and re-do the drywalls? Any help is welcome, so we can eventually feel home! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2OB2rHk
