I've been wearing Rockport Storm Surge Oxfords for the past couple years. They work great, they're mostly waterproof, very comfortable, they have great grip, they are business-y enough to wear at my fairly casual workplace but also casual enough to wear with jeans on the weekend, and most importantly, the uppers are flexible enough for me to pull them on and off without lacing or unlacing. (yeah, I'm that lazy but between dog walks, yard work, and errands I'm in and out of the house a dozen or more times a day.) the big issue is that I walk a lot and I end up wearing completely through the soles every six months.
I've been looking through the threads and have seen many great recommendations for shoes, but all of them either have slippery leather or dainite soles, too "fancy" (for lack of a better word) uppers which would get ruined walking trails and knee high grass in the rain with my dog, and virtually none of them look like they have the give to slip on and off. I really don't want to wear loafers or laceless shoes, those are ugly as sin.
Am I asking too much? Should I just keep buying rockports every 6 months or does something exist that will fit my needs?
