I fix things for a living so this comes naturally. but there are countless videos on youtube for fixing every day items, equipment etc.
I was in the market for a new vacuum. I was looking at dropping a couple hundred on a hoover. One of my weekly stops at Goodwill I found a Dyson DC25 for $15. We are a throwaway culture it seems. A $400 vacuum with a very minor broken power switch. $5 part off ebay, 1 youtube video about how to take the vacuum apart by the switch and I got myself a $400 vacuum for twenty bucks.
Learn to fix things or at least consider how to get things fixed before you throw something expensive away.
