My clumsy mishap has been haunting me for years. I accidentally rammed the antenna of my Honda CR-V against the garage door while backing out. The mounting was partially pried away, about 1 millimeter.
How can I get this permanently repaired or resolved, without breaking the bank?
The local Honda dealership quoted a price of $900 (or more) to remount the antenna properly to the roof so that it doesn't leak; it would also take a week or more.
So far, I have been getting away with putting some clear sealant around the mount with a caulking gun and just replacing the seal every year.
In a few years, I will likely sell the vehicle, so I definitely need to get it permanently repaired before that happens.
