I’m repainting an old Windsor chair that has six layers of paint on top of the original finish. The top four layers were badly applied and are coming off in giant flakes. The bottom layers were done well and aren’t budging much with the scraper.Can I just sand them a bit and then prime or should I get out the chemical stripper? How clean should it be of old finish?I’ve never refinished furniture to paint (usually just removed old finish & oiled) so I’m a little out of my depth and I want this to look sharp. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2CyHP18
