My wife and I have ran into rough financial times and as a result, some cutbacks in non-critical areas needed to be made. I’m not particularly creative when it comes to dates, especially economically viable ones so naturally they have been few and far between for a while.
However, I have recently discovered a whole host of free activities hosted by my city’s parks and rec division. Most are on a first come/first serve basis at a particular park and time for little to no cost at all. The activities range from guided hikes, canoeing, to archery for people of all ages and everything else in between! For those of you that have kids and home school, there are even free programs for kids to attend during the day. If your S/O is a fairly easy person to please, these make great dates to get outside and do something. I personally feel like I’ve stumbled upon a gold mine and my wife has picked several activities throughout the rest of the year that she’d like to do.
Of course, I say all of this while keeping in mind that YMMV in each city/state because funding to these programs is variable but it should be a google search away to find these things if available in your area. I know that many of us groan about our tax dollar usage at times but they do fund programs like these so don’t hesitate to use them!
