I spent around $200. They came with a shock absorbing heel with a thin hard rubber wear layer. After 4 months of moderate use including every third day off they are worn down to the softer layer and ready to be resoled. A call to Thorogood got a response of "it's not a defect, you're on your own". I am astounded. I strongly suggest you remove Thorogood from your list of good boots. I repeat, 4 months, $200. There are Much better choices out there. This is just insulting.

I like Thorogood boots because the boots are by union workers in the United States, who know what a right working boot entails. It is, therefore, a boot that we can rely on, any day as a beginner or pro. Read this for more info
