Bit of background first up,
I've been wanting make my first investments for a couple years now, when I first started seriously looking I had 20k to put in, now I have 30 with no expenses coming up and I feel like the money is a huge waste sitting in a super savers account only getting $65 a month in interest.
I'm not too interested in making huge gains over short term, more just invest and hold, 5- 10 years or so. (I'm only 23)
The problem is, since the market is so (seemingly) complex and diverse, everyone has there own opinion. I've always been more interested in blue chip stocks but again, I don't know enough to dive in. I have people telling me to buy in on random blocks of land, people saying the best is xyz and other people saying xyz is a terrible choice.
I can't help but feel the 30k is being wasted sitting there.
I also don't feel like I can't trust going to a broker or such as they are only out to make money for themselves, can't imagine making me money is always going to be in there best interest if it means they make less.
Anyone know of a good resource I can advance my knowledge enough to step into the market comfortably?
