Not sure if this will apply to everyone but I just discovered worksharing. There is a community farm in my area where if you volunteer for four hours (basic stuff like weeding, picking/cleaning produce, fertilizing etc) you get a big box of fruits/veggies to take home! I just did a Google search for farms in my area and came across it. A nice way to supplement your weekly groceries!
