We are buying a house that has hardwood in the hallways/kitchen, and carpet in the living room and bedrooms. We want to pull out the carpet in the living room and install wood laminate. We want to use wood laminate instead of hardwood because we have dogs who will scratch the floor, as well as the cost. Here is the best picture we have at the moment that shows the transition from hardwood to the living room. The room length is perpendicular to the grain of the hardwood. What do you recommend we do to make the transition from laminate to hardwood look/feel better?edit: also should we try to match the color to the hardwood if possible or not even try and just go with something darker? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2Pl8Qao
