Can you hang wood fence panels on vinyl fence posts and, if so, what considerations need to be made?We have a vinyl fence that's just good awful. As we consider ripping it out, we learned that the hollow vinyl posts are cemented in the ground. The posts are burried 32 inches or so deep and the cement comes up about 10 inches in the hollow post meaning there is about 94 inches of space up to the cap. We know this with certainty as we have dug and measured and looked down the hollow posts.Can I hang my six foot tall panels of wood stockade from these posts using 3" galvanized screws?Should I reinforce these posts with 4x4 pressure treated lumber to give the screws something more to bite into or is it not necessary?Doing this would save us a lot of time but am I wasting my time in considering it? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2MOR3qw
