Sorry in advance if this is the wrong sub, please point me in the right direction if not.Im doing a custom mod on my foxbody mustang. The mod: change from mechanical power steering pump (belt driven) to electrohydraulic (electric pump). After months of research i finally have the components to start the process. I pulled a pump from a volvo, the bracket that came with it would never mount anywhere sane if i wanted to. So, i bought 2 1ftx1ft 16ga steel plates. Tonight i sketched out what i think the bracket should look like. Before i go cutting, i was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me how well this will hold up under daily road conditions (vibrations, shock bounces, etc). If not well, what can i do to improve it?The pump is about 13lbs. There will be two of these brackets, one above the mounting loops, and one below. There are rubber grommits (came with original bracket) that go between mounting loop and brackets.Bracket sketchout: https://ift.tt/2wspwUM on the plate to show how it would sit.https://ift.tt/2PE8099 lines forming triangles in the center will be folded down to prevent bending down/up.Square section at the back will be folded at the first line. The brackets will be bolted to each other, then the frame.Dotted line front left, possible cut to allow hose fitting access. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2wcH882
