There is no overarching simple living theme as it differs from person to person as they grow and mature. I feel our philosophies are continuously being reshaped as we undergo more life experiences. As I step into my 30s, my simple living philosophies can be summarized as (i) Eat out less often and eat single dollar helthy meals (No meal should cost more than 10$) (ii) Stop being friends with people who spend extravagantly. (iii) Don't own a car. Fortunately, I live in a city with quite good public transport and I walk/bike to wherever I want. (iv) Live in a home, not a studio. This might seem counter intuitive, but I moved from a 400 sqft "modern" studio to an older 650 sq ft condo apartment where I pay less and enjoy my surroundings more. The small apartments make me feel like I am in a hotel room, not a home. (v) Have fun saving. Does anyone else relate to this? I feel proud of having saved some amount every month into a savings account. (vi) Stop comparing your situation to others. Ignorance is indeed bliss. Cut that cable which is simply a medium for consumption propaganda. (vii) Have fun being alone (Comes naturally to me). Apart from meeting up with friends on weekdays and working, I like to spend a lot of free time alone as I enjoy my frivolities and hobbies i.e. Netflix, Gaming, Sleeping, Playing instruments, Biking and Walking
