Texting from my phoneHired an electrician to upgrade my electrical through the entire house. The project started off fine back in end of Feb/beginning of Mar. After two weeks after, I decided to have additional work done. Electrician said its fine but obviously it'll change the price and time of completion. We negotiated the set price and told him that he can take the time he needs, I want it done right. After a month and a half, I began asking when it was going to finish because majority of the original scope of work was done. The completion date kept getting pushed back. Everything didn't get done till beginning of July. When I began checking the breakers, they were all over the place. I called him and informed him its not what we agreed on. He also left a bunch of garbage in the crawlspace, Romex wires weren't stapled to the joists, and the heating hoses got disconnected. He acknowledges this and comes back to clean and fix it.After that was all done, I finally cut him the final check. The next day, I get a text stating he needs to come back because he forgot to put covers on a few junction boxes in the crawlspace. Fine, no big deal, it sounds quick. I told him if he can also check the attic to ensure those are covered and hoses up there were also not disconnected. So he comes back, does his thing and texts me everything was done. Hoses in the crawl space and attic are in good shape. So I thought I was done. After a few days, I decided to go into the crawlspace again to see the work. Found two junction boxes still uncovered and another heating hose was still disconnected. I informed him and said its not even worth it at this point for you to do this. I just wanted nothing to do with the guy. Taped up the hose and put on the covers myself. I got worried about the attic and borrowed a ladder from a friend to go up and check after another week. Long behold, a bunch of junction boxes were uncovered, some weren't even nailed down, Romex wires not stapled. I immediately called the guy and ask what happened. His explanation that day was they spent majority of the time in the crawl space and became too hot during that time of day to go into the attic. So he basically told me the jobs done and left. He's going to come back and I will watch him do the work this time. But what other things should I do? Are there other things I should look around for?Another thing I thought was alarming was his son did majority of the work while he was not present. I don't know if he actually went back to look through the work but judging by their quality control so far, it doesn't seem like it. Is this a violation of any kind?Additional details: I upgraded to a 200 amp service panel, put in new wire for all the outlets and lights, separated each room to their own breakers and added new lighting in some closets.
